As the youngest of six children raised by a single mother who worked her way from the secretarial pool to middle management at Xerox, advancing women in leadership holds special significance for me.
When Adtalem Global Education launched their EDGE affinity group, a network of leaders, scholars and professionals seeking to Empower through Diversity, enabling Growth to achieve Excellence and accelerate the advancement of women, we were eager to contribute.
The organization was seeking a partner, collaborator and co-conspirator who shared their passion and had a spark for those trying to advance their careers…and we brought the fire.
“Breaking the glass ceiling for female professionals means reaching back to pull others through with you…” and it requires more than just ideals and a manifesto – it requires tangible, actionable resources that people can leverage for their individual goals to advance the group as a whole.
That’s exactly what we did for Adtalem Global Education.
Adtalem EDGE was clearly already living its values, appointing the only female African American CEO in a Fortune 1000 Business. Our team provided structure for the brand name and materials. We supported event promotion for guest speakers, professional development programs and created professional resources like LinkedIn resources, professional headshots and a peer mentoring group.
